Technical Sales Engineer - Dunfermline

Are you an experienced professional with a strong technical background in engineering or utilities, and a proven ability to deliver tailored solutions to industrial clients?

We're recruiting a Sales Engineer to join our client's expanding team. This role is perfect for someone who can combine technical knowledge with commercial awareness to identify opportunities and deliver high-value solutions to customers.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within engineering and utility sectors
  • Provide technical consultations and solutions tailored to each client's operational needs
  • Prepare and deliver detailed technical proposals, including product specifications and system benefits
  • Manage the full sales cycle - from technical qualification and scoping to negotiation and closing deals
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to ensure client requirements are met accurately and efficiently
  • Keep up to date with industry regulations, technologies, and trends to maintain a competitive edge

What We're Looking For:

  • A background in engineering, utilities, mechanical, or electrical systems is essential
  • Strong technical understanding of products and systems relevant to industrial or commercial sectors
  • Experience in a sales or business development role within a technical environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specs, or schematics
  • Confident communicator with strong problem-solving and consultative sales skills
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple client relationships and technical sales processes
