We're working with a specialist SEN school in Dunstable that is looking for a dedicated and compassionate graduate to join their team as an Aspiring Youth Offending Officer. This is an ideal opportunity for someone aspiring to work in youth offending, criminal justice, or behaviour support.

In this full-time role, you'll work closely with students who present Social, Emotional, and Mental Health difficulties-many of whom may have a history of challenging or offending behaviour. You'll support their educational progress, emotional regulation, and overall wellbeing while gaining invaluable experience in a structured, supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
  • Support personalised intervention plans to promote behavioural change and emotional development
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students to aid their rehabilitation and reintegration
  • Encourage social responsibility, life skills, and healthy coping strategies
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, social workers, and external agencies to deliver holistic support

Ideal Candidate:

  • A recent graduate in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field
  • Interested in becoming a Youth Offending Officer, behaviour mentor, or working in youth justice
  • Empathetic, calm, and resilient when supporting students with complex needs
  • Strong communicator, team player, and role model for positive behaviour
  • Experience working with young people is a bonus-but not essential; full training is provided
  • Local to or able to commute to Dunstable
