Location: County Durham
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Salary: DOE (Depending on Experience)


As a Quality Engineer, you will:

  • Play a key role in ensuring that processes, systems, and products meet the highest quality standards.
  • You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with industry standards, and support both production and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain quality assurance processes and systems
  • Carry out audits, inspections, and testing to ensure compliance with ISO standards and client requirements
  • Identify and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality issues
  • Analyse quality data and present findings to support business improvements
  • Support new product introductions by defining quality requirements and validation processes
  • Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities using recognised methodologies (e.g. 8D, FMEA, Six Sigma)
  • Produce and maintain quality documentation and reports for internal and external stakeholders

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Quality Engineer role within manufacturing/engineering
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 (IATF 16949 or similar advantageous)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with quality management systems
  • Relevant qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline (preferred but not essential if experience is strong)
