Role Overview:
As our Health & Safety Officer, you will be the champion of safety within our organisation. Your expertise will ensure that our workplace not only meets compliance standards but fosters a culture of health and well-being. You will play a crucial role in protecting our greatest asset-our people!
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures
- Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits
- Provide training and support to employees on health and safety practises
- Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and prevent recurrence
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a safety-first culture
- Stay updated on health and safety legislation and best practises
- Deliver and coordinate all required training and maintain records ensuring consistency across all sites including the provision of first aid fire marshal services ROSPA IOSH and forklift trained and certified personnel
ISO 45001 / 14001 responsibilities:
- Ensure that OH and S management system conforms to the requirement of the ISO4500 one and 1400 one standard
- Report the performance of the site OHNS management system to top management
- When requested perform internal audit of the ISO4500 one and 1400 one management system
Job competencies and key skills:
- Qualified with an occupational health and safety qualification at level three or above e.g. NEBOSH certificate auto diploma
- Proven ability to acquire and apply detailed legal technical and regulatory information
- Proficient in the use of MS office Excel PowerPoint
- Effective communicate with all levels internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent analysis skills and understanding processes, tasks and operations
- Calm patient assertive with excellent negotiation skills
- Driving license is desirable
What You Bring to the Table:
- A relevant health and safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH)
- Proven experience in a health and safety role, preferably in manufacturing
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management
- A genuine passion for promoting a safe workplace
