Site Manager: North East
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Freelance Site Manager to oversee a civils project in the North East, commencing immediately. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing civils projects, with specific experience in general plotworks.
The successful Site Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring the project is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all on-site activities, ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, plant, and materials.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations (HSE).
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries and progress reports.
- Liaise with the project team, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Resolve any on-site issues or challenges promptly and effectively.
- Drive the project forward to meet key programme dates.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on civils projects.
- Demonstrable experience in general plotworks is essential.
- Valid CSCS card (Manager level).
- Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate.
- First Aid at Work (preferred but not essential for application, may be required before starting).
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Based in or able to easily commute to the North East region.
