We are currently seeking a SEND Care Assistant to join our excellent supply team and work within SEND Schools across Durham. We partner with a wide range of specialist settings in the area, ensuring we can place you in a school that matches your experience, strengths, and interests.

As a SEND Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality care and support to pupils with a variety of special educational needs. This may include assisting with personal care, supporting communication needs, helping pupils regulate their emotions, and encouraging independence throughout the school day.

The successful candidate will be compassionate, reliable, and confident working with children and young people who require additional support. A Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service is essential.

The Ideal SEND Care Assistant Will Have:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND

  • Confidence assisting with personal care and daily routines

  • A nurturing, patient, and empathetic approach

  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to follow individual care plans

  • Excellent communication and rapport-building skills
