Job Title: Assistant Team Manager - Children Looked After TeamLocation: Durham County CouncilPay Rate: £36.26 per hourContract Type: Temporary / Full timeJob Description:Durham County Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Team Manager to support the Children Looked After Team. This is a key leadership role focused on delivering high-quality services and achieving positive outcomes for children and young people in care.Key Responsibilities:Assist the Team Manager in the day-to-day management of the team, ensuring effective service delivery.Provide supervision, guidance, and support to social workers and other team members.Oversee complex cases and support decision-making around care planning, safeguarding, and permanency.Promote a child-centered approach and ensure the team works in accordance with statutory duties and best practice.Contribute to performance monitoring, quality assurance, and continuous improvement within the team.Requirements:Social Work England registration.Degree in Social Work (or equivalent).Extensive post-qualifying experience, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities.Strong understanding of legislation and practice relating to looked after children.Enhanced DBS check.Benefits:Competitive hourly rate of £36.26.Supportive working environment with clear leadership.Opportunity to contribute to meaningful and lasting change in children's lives.£300 referral bonus
