An exciting opportunity has arisen with a food distribution business in Durham to recruit an ambitious, energetic Assistant Manage. You will play a vital role in supporting the warehouse operations to ensure timely and efficient redistribution out to it's hubs across the North West.

Key areas of responsibility to include:

  • Support with the management and the delivery of all services in the region, establishing relationships with the community partners, suppliers and stakeholders and building and embedding great relationships with them
  • Help to ensure the reliable delivery of healthy food to hub network
  • Help to build community hubs to bring in wrap around support for all members
  • Ensure smooth running of the warehouse
  • Carry out effective team and volunteer management
  • Provide operational cover as required
  • Support with the effective management of the regional facilities and fleet
  • Provide day to day oversight of the compliance requirements of Food Safety and Health & Safety

Skills and Experience

  • Recent convenience retail or hospitality management experience
  • Well developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in leading successful teams
  • The ability to think creatively and make good operationally sound decisions as a result
  • Confidence in managing conflicting priorities
  • Ability to react quickly and positively to changing priorities
  • Full manual driving licence
  • Ability to travel across the UK including some overnight stays

You mus be able to work flexibly - able to cover regional opening hours on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
