About the Role:We’re seeking an experienced social worker to carry out bespoke assessment work across the South of County Durham. You’ll be allocated cases that require thorough, high-quality assessments, including:

Pre-Birth Assessments
Parenting Assessments
Children & Family Assessments
Other specialist assessments as directed by the manager

What We’re Looking For:You’ll bring a strong assessment background and a passion for improving outcomes for children and families. You should be:

A Qualified Social Worker, with a degree or equivalent in Social Work
Registered with Social Work England
Experienced in assessment work (pre-birth, parenting, child and family)
Skilled in engaging with children and families, even in complex or sensitive situations
Knowledgeable in Child Protection legislation and child development
A creative, flexible, and reflective practitioner
Confident working as part of a multi-agency team
Experienced (ideally 4+ years post-qualified)

Manage a varied and manageable caseload
Work in partnership with other agencies to ensure child-centred, effective planning
