Contract Type: AgencyAre you an experienced and passionate Qualified Social Worker looking to focus on meaningful, in-depth assessment work? Join a dedicated Assessment Team in the North East, where your expertise will help shape better futures for children and families.?? About the Role:We’re seeking an experienced social worker to carry out bespoke assessment work across the South of County Durham. You’ll be allocated cases that require thorough, high-quality assessments, including:
  • Pre-Birth Assessments
  • Parenting Assessments
  • Children & Family Assessments
  • Other specialist assessments as directed by the manager
This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a direct impact on children’s lives at an early stage of need, providing the right support before problems escalate.? What We’re Looking For:You’ll bring a strong assessment background and a passion for improving outcomes for children and families. You should be:
  • A Qualified Social Worker, with a degree or equivalent in Social Work
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Experienced in assessment work (pre-birth, parenting, child and family)
  • Skilled in engaging with children and families, even in complex or sensitive situations
  • Knowledgeable in Child Protection legislation and child development
  • A creative, flexible, and reflective practitioner
  • Confident working as part of a multi-agency team
  • Experienced (ideally 4+ years post-qualified)

  • Use your professional expertise to assess risk, need, and family dynamics
  • Manage a varied and manageable caseload
  • Work in partnership with other agencies to ensure child-centred, effective planning
  • Use excellent communication and report-writing skills to influence positive outcomes
