SEN Teaching Assistant

Veritas Education is proud to be working with a dedicated and inclusive special school in Durham, which caters for pupils from early years through to 19 years old with a wide range of complex needs. We are seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term temporary basis, with the potential for the role to become permanent.


This is a nurturing and well-resourced special school that supports children and young people who are autistic or have profound, moderate, severe, or complex learning difficulties. The school is committed to providing a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment where every learner can thrive.

The Role:

  • Start date: After October Half Term (or as soon as possible thereafter)
  • Support pupils across a range of ages and needs
  • Work closely with teaching staff and therapists to deliver tailored support
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable)
  • Is patient, empathetic, and resilient
  • Can work effectively as part of a team
  • Is committed to supporting the individual needs of each pupil
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)
