Senior Innovation Project Manager

Adecco are recruiting on behalf of a Southern Water for an experienced Senior Innovation Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex programmes and projects across Business, Operational Technology (OT) and Digital environments.

This is a key role within the Portfolio team, responsible for delivering large-scale and complex projects, supporting programme delivery, and working closely with senior stakeholders to drive change from initiation through to service transition.

Contract Details:

  • Type: Temporary

  • Pay: 600 per day, outside IR35

  • Location: Durrington

  • Working Arrangements: Hybrid

  • Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of large-scale or complex projects, or medium-scale independent projects, within agreed scope, time and budget.

  • Deliver programmes and projects from early scoping through design, procurement, build, integration, testing, deployment and transition to support.

  • Support the Programme Manager in the delivery of the overall portfolio, including scoping, planning and resource management.

  • Maintain full accountability for project and programme budgets, schedules, resources and deliverables.

  • Manage, motivate and coach project teams, driving engagement, productivity and accountability.

  • Ensure all project artefacts are produced in line with PMO processes and quality standards.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business, OT and Digital stakeholders.

  • Manage interdependencies across projects and programmes, contributing to portfolio-level planning.

  • Proactively identify, manage and escalate risks and issues, implementing mitigation and contingency plans.

  • Provide clear and timely project communications, including status reporting to senior stakeholders.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding and knowledge transfer for permanent, fixed-term or contract project resources.

  • Lead project closure activities, including post-implementation reviews and lessons learned.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Project Manager role, with end-to-end delivery lifecycle experience.

  • Proven experience delivering complex programmes or projects within large organisations.

  • Strong financial, organisational and stakeholder management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation.

  • Formal project management training or qualifications (such as PRINCE2, Agile or PMP).

  • Experience within OT, cyber security, utilities or manufacturing environments is highly desirable.

  • Ability to take ownership, drive delivery and work at pace in a matrix-managed environment.
