Are you a skilled Quality Engineer looking to join a forward-thinking manufacturing business where you can play a key role in upholding world-class quality standards? Our client, a well-established engineering manufacturer, is seeking a proactive and detail-driven Quality Engineer to support ongoing operational excellence and continuous improvement.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong quality engineering experience, particularly within precision manufacturing, to contribute to robust quality processes and help drive compliance across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Documentation Review & Development:
Review, approve, and develop work instructions and procedures to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards.Product Testing & Compliance:
Coordinate and carry out testing activities aligned with relevant industry standards, including those used within high-specification sectors such as Aerospace.Measurement Equipment Management:
Support the calibration programme for all measuring and test equipment, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and effective control of M&TE assets.Inspection & Reporting:
Apply a range of inspection techniques using hand tools and precision instruments.
Create inspection sheets and balloon drawings to clearly define inspection criteria for manufactured components.Quality Reporting & Submissions:
Prepare and manage First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) to demonstrate product conformance.Auditing & Compliance:
Lead and participate in internal and external audits, supporting the maintenance and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.Training & Development:
Assist with the training of employees in quality standards, procedures, and best practices to enhance quality awareness across the business.
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a quality engineering or quality control role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of quality management systems and quality methodologies.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Experience producing detailed inspection documentation such as balloon drawings and inspection sheets.
Good knowledge of metrology and calibration systems.
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to support training and auditing activities.
Desirable
Experience operating or programming CMMs, ideally using MCOSMOS.
Background in the Aerospace sector or other high-precision industries.
Familiarity with AS9100 or similar aerospace quality standards.
