Location: Boldon

Our client is a leading manufacturer and service provider specialising in advanced heat transfer technology across multiple industries. They are known for their precision engineering, technical expertise, and commitment to innovation and quality.

Purpose

The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in the design, analysis, and optimisation of heat exchanger products and systems, ensuring they meet the highest performance, safety, and regulatory standards. This position offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

 

Design and Development

Lead the design, modelling, and analysis of heat exchangers and related mechanical systems using industry-standard CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

Perform thermal and fluid dynamics simulations (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL) to optimise performance and efficiency.

Select materials and components based on application requirements, ensuring compatibility with thermal, mechanical, and environmental conditions.

Produce detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.

 

Product Testing and Validation

Develop and implement testing protocols to validate product performance, reliability, and safety.

Analyse test data to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with specifications and standards.

Work with the quality team to address issues identified during testing and validation.

Project Management

      Manage multiple projects from concept to production, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales and budgets.

Liaise with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and sales, to achieve project goals.

Prepare and present technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

 

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, reduce costs, and improve manufacturing processes.

Keep up to date with emerging technologies, materials, and regulatory changes relevant to heat exchanger design and manufacture.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and trainees.

 

Duties

Carry out all tasks in accordance with the company's Health, Safety & Environmental (SHE) policies and procedures.

Actively promote safe working practices and challenge unsafe behaviours.

Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by the Company or Line Manager.
