Test, Service and Installation Engineer
Location: UK-based with international travel
We're looking for a hands-on Test, Service and Installation Engineer to support customers worldwide by testing, installing, and maintaining advanced fire testing instruments and associated software. This is a varied and dynamic role ideal for someone with strong electrical/mechanical skills and a proactive, customer-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Testing & QA: Perform final inspections of instruments (electrical, mechanical, and software) prior to shipment
- Installation: Carry out on-site equipment installation and software setup (2-5 day visits)
- Training: Deliver end-user training on system operation and routine maintenance
- Servicing & Repairs: Provide planned maintenance, emergency support, and system upgrades (2-3 day visits)
- Technical Support: Offer remote troubleshooting and collaborate on acceptance testing and returns
- Travel: International travel required (approximately 25-50%)
Key Skills & Experience:
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 2+ years' experience in electrical testing, service engineering, or installation roles
- Proficient with instrumentation systems, electrical wiring, and mechanical components
- Excellent communication skills with experience in customer-facing roles
- Full UK driving licence and valid passport essential
