Position: Part-Time Chef
Location: East Grinstead
Hours: Two days per week (including some weekend work). Additional hours may be available to cover holidays and staff absences.
Pay: Up to 15 per hour
About the Role
A respected contract catering provider is seeking an experienced Part-Time Chef to support a well-established Assisted Living site in East Grinstead. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a warm, community-focused environment where high-quality, nutritious meals play an essential role in residents' well-being.
Key Responsibilities
As the site's Chef, you'll be responsible for preparing and cooking around 30 three-course lunches, pre-ordered by residents and their guests. Your key duties will include:
Creating meals with a strong emphasis on quality, flavour, and presentation.
Working closely with care staff to accommodate specific dietary needs and restrictions.
Upholding the highest hygiene and food safety standards in the kitchen.
Assisting with stock control and ordering, ensuring the kitchen remains well-supplied and organised.
About You
We're looking for someone with a strong culinary background and previous experience in similar roles-ideally within healthcare, assisted living, or hospitality. The successful candidate will have:
A genuine passion for food and dedication to delivering a great dining experience.
Solid knowledge of dietary needs and nutrition, particularly for older adults.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
A positive, approachable attitude and a team-focused mindset.
Flexibility to adapt to the day-to-day demands of the kitchen environment.
