Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Secondary School, East Grinstead

Academics is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in East Grinstead. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people and gaining experience in education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students in the classroom, both 1:1 and in small groups

  • Work alongside teachers to help deliver engaging and accessible lessons

  • Assist students with additional learning needs, including mild SEN

  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage student confidence

  • Contribute to a calm, focused and supportive learning environment

Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people (in schools or similar settings)

  • A positive, adaptable and proactive attitude

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Full UK driving licence preferred (school may not be easily accessible by public transport)

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply
