Chef Daytime Hours Only | Urban Ground, Eastbourne

Urban Ground has a fantastic opportunity to join our friendly kitchen team at our South Street café.

Who are we?
Urban Ground is home to two specialty coffee shops in Eastbourne. We pride ourselves on serving exceptional food and drinks with outstanding customer service.

Our brunch menu has grown in popularity and weekends are busy. All of our cakes and traybakes are baked fresh in-house, with recipes tweaked seasonally to keep things interesting. We work with one of the best roasters in the UK, Square Mile, and youll never be short of good coffee.

The role
Were looking for an experienced chef who:

  • Thrives in a busy kitchen environment and maintains high standards of quality and cleanliness

  • Has skills in both savoury and sweet prep from brunch dishes to traybakes and mini cakes

  • Enjoys working with fresh, seasonal produce and adapting recipes

  • Is organised and confident with systems for stock management and menu costings

Our brunch menu changes seasonally to highlight the best local produce. The kitchen also supplies both cafés with baked goods, and we have a broad recipe library alongside well-established systems to support you.

While evenings arent part of the regular rota, we do run occasional pop-up events from wine pairings to collaborative supper clubs and youll be encouraged (and supported) to get creative with these.
