Fawkes & Reece are currently assisting a leading tier 1 main contractor in the search for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work on an exciting scheme in East Sussex. The business is one which works across the education, healthcare and commercial sectors with projects typically valuing up to �100mil. Projects are administered via a mix of JCT and NEC forms of contract.

They're looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work on a �30mil healthcare scheme in East Sussex which is a framework project and is due to go live in the next 3 months.

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, your duties will include but not be limited to:

• Financial reporting and control
• Continually monitor and review, in detail costs and values of the works at hand.
• Commercial forecasting
• Ensure that the financial reports are produced and submitted in line with the company's reporting timetable.
• Attend regular review and commercial control meetings.
• Liaise closely with the Design and Project Management leads to ensure cross control
• Management of Risk
• Management of contract variations
• Contract Review and production Meetings
• Main Contract and External Valuations and Final Accounts
• Management of Consultants and Subcontractors
• Feedback to the Commercial manager of any price elements or unit prices which are considered to be seriously at variance with cost, giving details of shortfall.
• Provide constructive comments on improving efficiency

The ideal Assistant Quantity Surveyor will have:

• A construction related degree / equivalent qualification
• At least 2 year's experience within a Main Contractor
• Live within East Sussex
