An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our clients Facilities Department based in Eastleigh as a Caretaker. This role is crucial for supporting and maintaining the smooth running of the site and offers great opportunities for development and qualifications.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the facilities team to deliver high standards in a busy office environment, ensuring staff welfare.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly checks including plant inspection, lighting checks, water hygiene, and fire alarm call point tests.
  • Handle general building repairs such as leaking taps, changing light bulbs/ballasts, replacing carpet tiles, painting, and adjusting door closers and hinges.
  • Organise office moves and set up meeting and training rooms.
  • Manage contractors on site, ensuring safe working practices, raising document worksheets, and recording for audit purposes.
  • Participate in an emergency call-out rotation (1 week in 4).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Skilled / some experience in maintenance tasks including plumbing, carpentry, basic electrical work (depending on qualifications), carpet laying, painting & decorating, and specialist cleaning jobs.
  • Physical ability to handle heavy furniture and equipment, with full manual handling training provided.
  • Knowledge of current Health and Safety laws and regulations.
  • Willingness to undergo training for Fire Warden and First Aid at Work.
  • Proficient in using MS Office for emails, calendars, Excel, Word, and task & asset planning software.
  • Excellent customer service skills, able to interact tactfully and diplomatically with all levels within the business and with contractors and visitors.
