Job Title: Methods Engineer / Manufacturing EngineerJob Location: SouthamptonSalary: £55,0000 (plus shift allowances)Hours Per Week: 40hrs per weekDuration: Fixed term until 31st December 2026Start Date: ASAPIndustries / Disciplines Considered: Rolling Stock, Manufacturing, Weld, Welding, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, DefenceCompany Summary:They are a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service and maintenance.Position Summary:This role is to help continually improve and assess the manufacturing process within the weld department, continually reviewing drawing and standards. Key responsibilities will include:* Responsible for creating Bill of Materials (MBOM's)* Creating weld documentation such as weld maps and drawings* Complete work analysis and labour studies (Kaizen)* Working of layout of workstations and storage areas* Working on design and acquisitions of jigs and other fixtures* Continual evaluations of tooling* Updating processes and documentation on IT Systems* Create lesson plans for Production Team* Promote best and safe practice* Support audits* Make methods and quality improvementsQualifications:Degree, HNC or HND (engineering)Functional Knowledge:* Experience in an Engineering Manufacturing environment ideally Welding / fabrication* Good HSE knowledge* Keen eye for detail* Strong communication skills* Proficient in computerised business tools (SAP and MS Office such as Excel and Word)Contact details:jarreth.mayze @shortermgroup.comPLEASE NOTE ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO PASS AN DRUGS AND ALCOHOL TEST BEFORE BEING OFFERED A POSITION (this is standard procedure on Rail depots)Please note due to the volume of applications, we can only commit to contact those candidates we deem suitable for the position.
