Strategic Buyer
Location : Chandlers Ford
Salary : 45,000 - 51,000 Depending on experience

We are looking for a talented Strategic Buyer to join our clients team, who are in the manufacturing and production industry and pride themselves on their commitment to quality, customer service, and continuous improvement.
About the Role:
As our Strategic Buyer, you will:
- Develop and analyse Category Strategies to achieve departmental and business objectives
- Mentor and lead junior members of the Purchasing & Supply Chain team, fostering their growth through coaching and training
- Work closely with Operational Buyers to maintain and enhance the supplier base
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance operational efficiency
- Manage supplier relationships to secure the best prices and value for goods and services
Key Responsibilities:
- Create Category Reviews with a focus on logistics and transport of goods and services
- Conduct on-site audits of suppliers and actively resolve quality and commercial issues
- Introduce best practises and new processes while training team members
- Review landed costs data, ensuring accuracy and timely updates
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in strategic procurement within the manufacturing, distribution, or engineering sectors
- Strong knowledge of supply chain logistics and inventory management
- Experience in leading and mentoring teams, with a passion for talent development
- CIPS Level 4 or equivalent Supply Chain Qualification (or working towards)
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, with strong analytical skills
- A valid UK driving licence is required
