Quantity Surveyor
To consistently deliver a meticulous and professional commercial service across all assigned projects, ensuring effective administration and alignment with key business objectivescovering health and safety, profitability, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate within the companys integrated management system, policies, and procedures.
  • Foster a strong operational-commercial partnership to meet project needs.
  • Monitor and manage financial risks and associated budgets.
  • Oversee performance standards and quality control.
  • Secure subcontractors at competitive rates, optimizing procurement efficiency.
  • Build lasting relationships with clients and their representatives.
  • Encourage cross-department collaboration through effective communication and adherence to company procedures.
  • Develop a clear understanding of contracts and project scopes, ensuring alignment among project team members.
  • Establish a strategic procurement approach in line with contract timelines, continuously monitoring and adjusting as needed.
  • Prepare and submit timely applications for payments to support cash flow management.
  • Ensure the recovery of retentions per contractual agreements.
  • Identify opportunities for added value and submit timely pricing proposals to maximize returns.
  • Conduct proactive cost and value reviews with site teams to maintain accurate forecasting.
  • Provide guidance and development support to other project team members.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Contract awareness and financial acumen.
  • Familiarity with tendering and procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of quality, health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Experience:

  • Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor in a civil engineering environment.
  • Experience with dispute resolution (desirable).
  • Understanding of CVRs and financial reporting (desirable).

Technical Proficiency:

  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications (Evision, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Business Collaborator).
  • Ability to navigate company-specific cost management systems.

Training & Qualifications:

  • Full driving licence.
  • Comprehensive understanding of NEC3, NEC4, ECC, ICE, and JCT contracts.
  • Preferably HNC or degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
  • Membership in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) (desirable).
