Maths Teacher

Prospero Teaching are proud to be supporting an Alternative Provision in Eastleigh, Hampshire, in recruiting a dedicated Maths Teacher to lead teaching for secondary-aged pupils from September 2025, or earlier for the right candidate.
This Alternative Provision supports young people aged 1116 who are unable to access mainstream education, often due to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, challenging behaviour, or other barriers to learning. The setting provides a highly supportive and structured environment, with a strong focus on personalised learning, emotional regulation, and re-engagement with education.
About the Role:
The school is seeking a Maths Teacher to plan and deliver functional and GCSE-level Maths to small groups of students. The focus will be on promoting academic progress alongside personal development, helping students build confidence and work towards qualifications that support their future aspirations.
You will work closely with a team of Teaching Assistants, Pastoral Leads, and SEN professionals to provide a consistent, therapeutic, and aspirational learning environment.
Experience:
- Qualified Teachers with experience in mainstream or alternative settings
- Teachers who understand how to engage learners with SEMH or behavioural needs
- Candidates with a strong understanding of differentiation and trauma-informed practice
- Individuals who are committed to helping vulnerable young people succeed academically and personally
Contract Details:
- Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire
- Position: Maths Teacher (Alternative Provision)
- Start Date: September 2025 / ASAP
- Contract Type: Permanent (or long-term supply with permanent potential)
- Working Hours: 8:30am 4:30pm (Monday to Friday)
- Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN/Alternative Provision Allowance (depending on experience)
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
- Experience teaching Maths at KS3/KS4 level
- Experience or interest in working with pupils with SEMH, behavioural, or additional learning needs
- Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (within the last year)
- Enhanced Child DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
- Two professional, child-related references
