SEN Teaching Assistant – Ebbw Vale

Location: Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent
Contract: Full-time / Long-term

Pay Rate: £88.92 - £101.92 per day (depending on experience)

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional learning needs?
Vision for Education are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive 3–19 special needs school in Ebbw Vale.

About the Role

You’ll be working closely with teachers and support staff to assist pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning challenges. Your role will be vital in helping students reach their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

     Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with a variety of SEN needs

     Assist the class teacher with planning, preparation, and classroom management

     Promote independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing among learners

     Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and follow safeguarding policies

     Support students’ personal care needs where required

Requirements

     Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (preferred)

     A positive, patient, and resilient attitude

     Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

     Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

     Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, TA, SEN, or equivalent) are desirable
