An opportunity has arisen for an Automation & Installation Engineer to join a busy production environment based in Edenbridge, Kent. This role suits an Automation & Installation Engineer with strong electro-mechanical assembly experience who enjoys hands-on build, site installation, and commissioning work.
 
As an Automation & Installation Engineer, you will take a lead role in assembling complex electro-mechanical systems, supporting installations at customer sites, and representing the business in a professional, customer-facing capacity. The Automation & Installation Engineer will work closely with production, engineering, and project teams to ensure systems are delivered on time and to a high standard.
 
The Automation & Installation Engineer role is primarily site-based in Edenbridge, with occasional UK and international travel for installations and commissioning.
 
Key responsibilities

  • Assembly and integration of complex electro-mechanical systems
  • Installation and commissioning of systems at customer sites
  • Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and electrical wiring diagrams
  • Supporting fault-finding, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
  • Acting as a customer-facing engineer during onsite work
  • Contributing to daily production and project meetings

 
Requirements

  • Engineering qualification (HND or equivalent or higher)
  • Proven experience assembling electro-mechanical systems
  • Ability to read technical drawings and electrical panel diagrams
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel internationally
  • Strong communication skills and organised working approach

 
Desirable

  • PLC programming exposure
  • Electrical schematic design experience
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge
  • Forklift licence
