SENIOR ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER - INTERMEDIATE ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER - JUNIOR ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

My client are looking to expand their design team and seek a fully experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer who is an ambitious individual, able to demonstrate experience in a wide range of project types and systems and be familiar with industry standards. You should possess a good commercial awareness and technical knowledge relevant to building services design and be capable of incorporating those technologies into any project.

The successful candidate will be expected to have the ability to run medium sized projects and have the skills and experience to undertake a client facing role in the development, design and co-ordination of engineering projects. To be competent in the use of Industry design and drawing software.

The engineer should be educated to degree level in Building Services Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years industry experience and chartered or working towards chartered status. Able to demonstrate a continued Professional Development Programme.

The main job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Role & Responsibility

  • Establishing and developing the design of Engineering solutions and systems
  • Preparing concept plans and briefs for projects
  • Instruct and monitor project Electrical Engineering Team and CAD Department
  • Producing reports in support of the design concepts with regard to compliance with standards and best practice
  • Liaising with others in the design team.
  • Inspecting installations and reviewing progress quality and performance tests
  • Supporting the design team and client with regard to Operation and ongoing maintenance
  • Preparing Detail Design Project Specification and Drawing
  • Participating in client and project meetings
  • Reporting to clients on progress and project related items
  • Carry out or review Electrical Design Calculations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering / Environmental Engineering

Preferably a member of a recognised industry body:

  • Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers
  • Institution of Electrical Engineers

Essential Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant guidance and standards for BSI, CIBSE, IET, ENA and Building Regulations
  • Knowledge of alternative energy and sustainable design
  • Experience of HV installations at 11kV and above

Desirable Skills:

  • Autocad/Revit/Navisworks
  • Dialux/Relux
  • Amtech
  • BREEAM principles

Experience:

  • At least 5 years with a recognised company
  • Project experience preferred within a number of market sectors to include commercial, retail, industrial, Data centre.
