A thriving secondary school in Edgware is seeking an exceptional Head of Maths to join their leadership team this September. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the direction of a high-performing department within a supportive and ambitious school environment.

The Role:As Head of Maths, you will lead a dedicated team of teachers in delivering a dynamic, engaging, and rigorous curriculum that supports student success at all levels. You'll be responsible for raising standards, implementing effective teaching strategies, and fostering a love of mathematics across the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and develop the Maths department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning

  • Monitor student progress and implement strategies to support achievement at KS3, KS4, and KS5

  • Drive curriculum development in line with national expectations and school priorities

  • Support and mentor staff within the department, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement

  • Use data effectively to identify trends and inform planning and intervention

  • Contribute to whole-school improvement as part of the extended leadership team

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Mathematics or a related subject

  • Proven experience teaching Maths across secondary key stages, including GCSE and ideally A-Level

  • Prior leadership or departmental responsibility is highly desirable

  • A track record of improving student outcomes and leading successful interventions

  • Inspirational, proactive, and reflective with excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Committed to inclusive practice and raising achievement for all learners
