Are you an experienced accountant with a passion for purpose-driven work? REED Finance are working with a dedicated not-for-profit organisation based in Edinburgh, that are looking for a skilled Accountant to support their team through the financial year-end process.

About the Role:

As the Year-End Accountant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the financial records are accurate, compliant, and audit ready. You’ll work closely with the finance team and external auditors to deliver a smooth and timely year-end close.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and finalise year-end accounts in accordance with charity accounting standards (SORP)
  • Support the audit process, including liaising with external auditors
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports for the board
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support as needed

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ICAS) or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in charity or not-for-profit finance is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP and charity SORP
  • Proficiency in accounting software Sage
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
