Are you an experienced accountant with a passion for purpose-driven work? REED Finance are working with a dedicated not-for-profit organisation based in Edinburgh, that are looking for a skilled Accountant to support their team through the financial year-end process.
About the Role:
As the Year-End Accountant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the financial records are accurate, compliant, and audit ready. You’ll work closely with the finance team and external auditors to deliver a smooth and timely year-end close.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and finalise year-end accounts in accordance with charity accounting standards (SORP)
- Support the audit process, including liaising with external auditors
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports for the board
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ICAS) or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in charity or not-for-profit finance is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP and charity SORP
- Proficiency in accounting software Sage
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
