Qualified Accountant - Edinburgh

£60,000 per annum plus performance bonus & company benefits.

Our client is a forward-thinking accounting and advisory practice serving a diverse range of clients, including SMEs, private companies, and high-net-worth individuals. They are seeking a fully qualified accountant to join their Edinburgh team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both technical accounting and working directly with clients. You will be responsible for preparing full accounts, managing client relationships, and providing high-level advice that supports clients in making informed business and financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review full statutory accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients.

• Provide high-level advice on accounting, tax, and business opportunities (with support from the tax team for detailed technical matters).

• Build strong client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser and main point of contact.

• Analyse financial information to identify areas for growth, efficiency, and improved decision-making.

• Participate in client meetings and presentations, demonstrating the value of the firm’s expertise.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

• Support practice growth by recognising and developing new advisory opportunities within your client base.

• As the Edinburgh office grows, take on the opportunity to manage and mentor new team members.

Candidate Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).

• Proven ability to prepare and review full statutory accounts.

• Strong experience in handling a client portfolio and building trusted relationships.

• Excellent communication skills, able to present complex financial information clearly.

• Commercially aware and proactive in identifying opportunities to add value.

• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with partners and colleagues.
