Job

The role of Accounts Payable Specialist will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:

• Processing various invoices using the firm’s accounts payable system
• Handling payment of employee & partner personal expense claims
• Managing credit card & virtual credit card programmes
• Maintaining vendor records and ensuring compliance with risk management policies
• Preparing weekly supplier payment runs via BACS
• Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies
• Uploading internal recharges to the practice management system
• Organising and filing of documentation within online systems
• Participating in team meetings and contributing to cashroom procedures discussions
• Supporting during the firm’s annual audit cycle
• Assisting with ad-hoc departmental duties as required

You

As an Accounts Payable Specialist you will be skilled &/or qualified in the following:

• Experience in an accounts payable or high-volume transactional role within professional services
• Understanding of Law Society of Scotland and SRA Solicitors’ Accounts Rules (desirable)
• Knowledge of Aderant and Emburse Enterprise (beneficial but not essential)
• Enthusiasm, accuracy and sharp attention to detail
• Awareness of HMRC VAT and Anti-Money Laundering regulations (beneficial)
• Effective teamwork and independent work capabilities
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Adaptability to remote working requirements
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Flexible, reliable, proactive attitude with a drive to succeed
