Stores & Logistics Operative (Day Shift)

Location: Edinburgh
Pay Rate: 12.30 - 14.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Shift Pattern: Monday-Thursday 08:20-17:05, Friday 08:20-13:25 (with 1 hour daily flexibility)
Pre-employment requirement: Drug screening and successful onboarding checks



About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Stores & Logistics Operative to join our client's growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in warehouse operations, logistics, or materials handling, who takes pride in maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and compliance within a busy working environment.

You'll be responsible for ensuring smooth warehouse and logistics operations, including inventory control, goods handling, and supporting production with timely materials supply.



Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure warehouse compliance with all Health & Safety regulations

  • Pack, stock, and organise products neatly and efficiently

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels

  • Manage incoming and outgoing goods, including shipping, loading, and unloading

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely

  • Handle and transport sensitive or delicate materials with care

  • Drive vans, trucks, and passenger vehicles to support logistics operations

  • Support production orders and material requests to the factory floor

  • Administer stock control and maintain accurate documentation

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce costs

  • Perform data analysis and metrics reporting to support continuous improvement

  • Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers to ensure smooth logistics flow

  • Assist in managing and developing the warehouse and logistics team



Personal Qualities & Skills

  • Proven experience within a stores or logistics environment

  • Strong understanding of supply chain, inventory, and distribution processes

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Proficient in Windows-based PC programmes

  • Previous experience with SAP is an advantage

  • Reliable team player with good communication and timekeeping skills

  • Flexible, proactive, and able to show initiative
