Job Overview
We are seeking skilled Carpenters to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various carpentry techniques and a keen eye for detail. This role involves constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. The Carpenter will work on a variety of projects, including residential and commercial builds, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Duties
- Construct, install, and repair structures such as roofs, frameworks, and cabinetry.
- Perform joinery work to create strong joints between different pieces of wood or materials.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to fabricate components as required.
- Carry out masonry tasks when needed, ensuring proper alignment and stability.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials with precision.
- Ensure all work is plumb and level by using appropriate measuring instruments.
- Assist in painting and finishing surfaces to achieve desired aesthetics.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site, including electricians and plumbers, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role in the construction industry.
- Proficient in using hand tools (e.g., chisels, saws) and power tools (e.g., drills, sanders).
- Strong understanding of joinery techniques and carpentry principles.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of masonry work is an advantage but not essential.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
