Hours:8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
Job Summary
We are currently recruiting an experienced Joiner to join our maintenance team in Edinburgh. The role involves both reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance across a variety of settings. You'll work closely with the Fabric Supervisor and Fabric Manager to ensure all works are carried out to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake essential repair works and general maintenance as directed by the Fabric Supervisor/Fabric Manager.
- Liaise with supervisors and managers to request necessary materials and services.
- Use cause-effect analysis, technical drawings, and schematics to diagnose and solve problems.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) inspections per established procedures.
- Complete all relevant documentation, including report sheets, risk assessments, and test certificates.
- Safely operate all tools and equipment required for the job, ensuring full compliance with company safety guidelines (e.g., Risk Assessments, Fire Safety, Control of Infection, COSHH).
- Understand and respect the work of other trades and collaborate effectively.
- Undertake any required training to stay up to date with modern techniques.
- Perform any other tasks reasonably requested by supervisors or managers.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a qualified Joiner or Carpenter.
- Strong understanding of building fabric maintenance and repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
- Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to health and safety compliance.
- Flexibility to support reactive and planned maintenance schedules.
