This is an excellent opportunity to join my client, a highly-regarded, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy, dedicated to broadening their geographical reach by establishing a brand new office location in bonnie Scotland. Known for lending their expertise to a diverse range of projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are on the lookout for a driven, experienced Senior Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, who is willing to take on a broad range of challenging projects. You will be working alongside a newly-established team of infrastructure design experts, based in the picturesque, richly-cultural Scottish Capital City of Edinburgh.

Responsibilities for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

  • Contributing to a number of projects and developments, in a design capacity
  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of engineering projects, from inception through to completion
  • Mentoring and supporting colleagues during their time at the company
  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders across the public and private sectors
  • Preparing and checking technical documents, such as reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and method statements
  • Adhering to company policies, procedures, and best practice, upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
  • Acting as a company representative at client meetings, site visits, and during other events

Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

  • A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering
  • Possess Chartered Status with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICE)
  • Experience of working in a design role, within a UK-based consultancy (or Local Authority) setting
  • Considerable experience of working on infrastructure (primarily highways and drainage), housing developments, and energy projects
  • Experience of earthworks and drainage network modelling
  • Proficient in the use of various software packages (to include Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and others)
  • Considerable experience of writing and checking a variety of technical documents
  • Demonstrable experience of liaising with clients and stakeholders
  • Excellent organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

  • A UK Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in an appropriate discipline
  • Experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments
  • Experience of preparing Transport Assessments
  • Experience of leading projects/teams
  • Experience of working in a public-facing role
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
