The Role:
As Site Engineer, you will:
- Provide engineering support to the Site Manager and Project Team on the highways scheme.
- Assist in setting out works, undertaking levelling and measuring, and ensuring accurate construction in accordance with drawings and specifications.
- Prepare and maintain detailed site records, including daily reports and as-built drawings.
- Monitor progress against the project program and budget.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Liaise with other members of the project team, subcontractors, and clients.
- Assist in the management of materials and resources on site.
- Identify and report any potential problems or risks to the Site Manager.
- Contribute to a safe and efficient working environment.
What We're Looking For:
- A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering (HNC/HND or Degree).
- Experience working as a Site Engineer on highways schemes. Experience in Edinburgh is desirable but not essential.
- A good understanding of construction techniques and best practice for highway works.
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment and software (e.g., total stations, GPS, AutoCAD).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
