Mortgage consultant
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: 24,000 OTE 26,500
Hours: Monday-Friday
Overall role
* Managing inbound and outbound calls, and online enquiries from new and existing clients, who require whole of market mortgage advice
* Qualifying clients by gathering relevant information to be able to assess clients' ability to secure a mortgage and book clients in for an appointment with an adviser
* Nurture clients who are the initial stages of their mortgage journey and manage through to an appointment with an adviser
Key Responsibilities
* Handling all inbound mortgage and protection related enquiries
* Qualifying mortgage and protection appointments
* Generating mortgage appointments from outbound calls to existing clients
* Liaising with key stakeholders in the business, including mortgage advisers, property staff and senior managers
* Creation and updating of accurate MI to evidence performance and drive improvements.
* Accurate data entry and updating of CRM system.
* Requesting and analysing credit files from clients with credit issues
* Identifying opportunities for referrals to other areas of the Firm e.g. legal, estate agency, investment needs
Skills and Experience
Essential
* Confident communicator with experience of telephone sales
* Well organised with an attention to detail
* Driven, self-motivated with an ability and desire to work autonomously.
* Sales orientated with an ability to spot opportunities.
* Strong written communication
* Numerate and comfortable with basic calculations
* IT literate - good knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook
Desirable
* Basic understanding of mortgages and protection - not essential as full training will be given.
* Experience of building relationships over the telephone
* Desire to progress career within Financial Services
