BUSINESS MANAGER - INSIDE IR35 - CONTRACT TO DECEMBER 2025

One of Loriens Edinburgh based Public Sector clients is looking for an experienced Business Manager to join their team on a contract running through to the end of 2025, with the chance of extension.

Assignment description

  • Developing and maintaining effective business management systems including performance reporting, business planning, risk management and resourcing programme for performance audit and supporting the delivery of key audit reporting
  • Supporting business group leadership teams, including representing in key corporate forums, including operational planning, Performance, Finance and Risk Management Group (PFRMG) and Information Governance Management Group (IGMG) put in place arrangements to support compliance with key corporate policies, procedures and standards managing a small support team in the delivery of these responsibilities.
  • Performance reporting - overseeing the management of the data and systems to ensure there is accurate and timely reporting of a range of performance measures to business group Leadership Team, Executive Team and Board, to support decision making. This will include audit delivery progress, budgets, use of resources and quality and impact of audit work.
  • Resourcing - supporting the development of resourcing processes across PABV business group to enable colleagues to fulfil potential, including engaging with the implementation of new resourcing & management information system.
  • Scheduling and supporting key meetings obtain their insight into future audit work for the dynamic work programme.
  • Monitoring delivery of the dynamic work programme and developing processes and reporting in response to resource / delivery challenges to support the ongoing management of the programme.
  • Presenting key performance information to support the delivery of business group objectives and actively participate in discussions bringing that wider cross organisational insight.
  • Identifying opportunities for efficiency's and / or improved sharing of audit intelligence e.g. added value / impact arrangements.

Essential skill

  • Proven experience of working in a complex environment in a corporate strategy or lead business management role engaging with senior management.
  • Proven experience of developing, implementing and maintaining performance reporting, business planning, risk management and resourcing systems.
  • Excellent data analysis skills and the ability to present complex information in a clear and balanced manner, with accuracy and conciseness.
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation with strong emotional intelligence, deploying a different approach when necessary.
  • Experience of bringing out the best in a team, overseeing the work of others and coaching and supporting colleagues to help them develop in their roles.
