We’re currently working on behalf of a leading UK-based wealth and investment management firm to recruit a Paraplanner Team Leader for their Edinburgh office. This hybrid role presents an excellent opportunity to lead a high-performing team within a highly regarded and forward-thinking financial services organisation.

The business is known for its client-centric approach, innovative use of technology, and commitment to delivering transparent and accessible investment solutions to a broad client base including private clients, financial advisers, and institutions.

They are open to applications from both experienced Paraplanner Team Leaders as well as Paraplanners with supervisory or training experience who are ready to take the next step into leadership.

The Role

As Paraplanner Team Leader, you will play a key part in managing paraplanning functions across two internal teams, ensuring consistency, high standards, and continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with the Private Client Operations Manager to drive development initiatives, streamline workflows, and support wider operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of the paraplanning teams across two business units.

  • Oversee training, development, and performance management, including monthly one-to-ones and half-yearly reviews.

  • Develop and maintain procedures, training plans, and skills matrices.

  • Implement process improvements across locations using systems such as Xplan.

  • Ensure effective WIP management, supporting team members to meet deadlines.

  • Deliver monthly management information (MI) reports and contribute to operational planning.

  • Act as a key escalation point for team queries and support cross-functional collaboration.

About You

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience managing or supervising a paraplanning or similar operational team in financial services.

  • Background as a Paraplanner supporting high-net-worth (HNW) clients, preferably in an independent advisory setting.

  • Strong working knowledge of systems such as Xplan and Pershing.

  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and organisational skills.

  • Energetic, proactive, and committed to delivering high standards of client service.

  • Confident in contributing to process improvements and strategic initiatives.
