The Role:As General Foreman, you will:

Lead and supervise a team of operatives on roads and highways construction projects.
Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Monitor progress against the project schedule and budget.
Manage materials and resources effectively.
Maintain a safe and healthy working environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Liaise with the Site Manager, engineers, and other stakeholders.
Resolve on-site issues and problems effectively.
Ensure that all work complies with the project specifications and drawings.
Promote a positive and productive working environment within your team.

What We're Looking For:

A proven track record as a General Foreman or similar role within the roads and highways sector.
Extensive experience in all aspects of road and highway construction, including earthworks, drainage, surfacing, and other related activities.
Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to manage and motivate a team.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
Experience working in Edinburgh (or similar urban environment) is preferred.
