Job Title: On-Train Hospitality Assistant
Location: Edinburgh Waverley (Must be within a 45-minute travel distance)
Salary: 24,953 per annum + 3% commission
Training: 7 days of commercial training and a 2-day induction program.
Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week
Hours: Rotational shifts between 6:30 AM - 10 PM, across 5 days out 7
Start Dates in June.
Role Overview:
- You'll be the friendly, professional face of the organisation that passengers remember.
- Creating a welcoming and safe travel experience will come naturally to you.
- You will assist passengers, including those with disabilities, ensuring they can board and alight trains safely.
- Responsibilities include ticket issuance, transaction processing, monitoring passenger flow, and handling customer concerns with confidence and care.
- The role may involve carrying a portable ramp weighing up to 15kg to assist individuals with mobility needs.
Skills Required:
We are seeking candidates with customer-facing experience, particularly those skilled in cash handling and service-oriented roles.
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential-you'll need to engage with passengers of all backgrounds in a professional, respectful, and inclusive manner.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and managing diverse situations effectively.
- Integrity and problem-solving skills to assist passengers and colleagues alike.
- Ability to remain calm in conflict situations and contribute positively to team dynamics.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently when needed.

Selection Process:
- Initial Interview: Microsoft Teams Interview
- Final Interview: In-person with the organisation
- Final Screening: Medical questionnaire, satisfactory references (minimum of two), Disclosure Scotland clearance, and a six-month probation period.
