Our client is a leading name in bespoke joinery, interiors, and furniture design. With a reputation for craftsmanship, attention to detail, and delivering exceptional projects, they are now looking to expand their design team with the appointment of a skilled CAD Designer with a background in furniture & joinery design.
As a CAD Designer, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between concept and manufacture. Working closely with designers, architects, sub-contractors, and suppliers, you will be responsible for producing accurate and cost-efficient drawings that convert architectural concepts into detailed manufacturing documentation. This role requires a strong joinery background and a deep understanding of furniture design and production processes.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced CAD Designer with a proven track record in the joinery and furniture design sector. You will be confident taking client concepts and translating them into practical, detailed drawings for manufacture.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate design concepts with designers, architects, sub-contractors, and relevant project stakeholders.
- Produce detailed joinery drawings for construction, including specialist materials, to the appropriate level of detail.
- Ensure all drawings produced are efficient, practical, and cost-conscious.
- Convert architectural and client drawings into accurate manufacturing drawings for approval.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Practical joinery and furniture design knowledge.
- Proficient in CAD, ideally AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Swood. Those with Swood experience will be at an advantage.
- Strong understanding of joinery manufacture and pre-assembly techniques.
- Ability to interpret and convert client drawings/requirements into manufacturing detail.
