About the Role
As a Graduate Planner, you will support senior colleagues on a variety of projects across residential, commercial, rural, and mixed-use sectors. Your role will include conducting research, preparing planning applications, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and assisting in the delivery of development proposals from inception through to determination.
This is a full-time, permanent role offering excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression within a collaborative and friendly consultancy team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing planning appraisals and reports.
- Research planning policy and legislation relevant to projects.
- Support the submission of planning applications and appeals.
- Engage with local authorities and external consultants.
- Contribute to community consultations and project meetings.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
Candidate Requirements:
- A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline (RTPI accredited).
- A strong interest in planning and development issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and good time management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Desirable:
- Previous work experience (including internships) in planning or a related field.
- Working knowledge of the Scottish planning system.
