Job Description:

They are seeking a motivated, hard-working and detail-oriented Planner to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in a planning consultancy or local authority local to Edinburgh. You will work closely with senior planners, clients, and stakeholders to support a variety of planning projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications
  • Conduct site visits and surveys to gather data and assess project requirements
  • Research and analyze planning policies, regulations, and best practices
  • Prepare reports, plans, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with team members to develop innovative planning solutions
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and provide professional advice
  • Monitor and report on project progress and timelines

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a planning consultancy or local authority 
  • Relevant RTPI accredited degree in Urban Planning
  • Strong understanding of planning legislation, policies, and procedures in Scotland
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Membership or eligibility for membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI)
