Non-Contentious Construction Lawyer (4 years'+)
A major UK law firm is seeking a non-contentious construction lawyer (4 years'+) to join its respected Construction & Engineering team in Edinburgh or Glasgow.
This is a key opportunity for an experienced lawyer to play an influential role in a growing team, supporting clients on some of the most significant construction and infrastructure projects across the UK and beyond.
About the role:The team supports a diverse client base including developers, investors, public sector bodies, contractors and lenders. You will work on high-value, complex projects across sectors such as urban regeneration, energy, education, transport and healthcare.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Leading on non-contentious construction matters, including drafting and negotiating construction contracts, professional team appointments, bonds, guarantees and ancillary documents
- Advising on various procurement strategies and standard forms including NEC, JCT, FIDIC and IChemE, as well as bespoke agreements
- Supporting the continued growth of the Scottish team, contributing to business development and strengthening client relationships
- Participating in knowledge-sharing, thought leadership and client training initiatives
About you:
- Qualified Lawyer (Scotland or England & Wales) with strong experience in non-contentious construction law
- Comfortable working closely with clients and project teams on complex infrastructure and development projects
- Collaborative and commercially minded, with an interest in mentoring junior lawyers and supporting wider team development
- Keen to play an active role in business development and practice growth
