Anderson Knight are recruiting on behalf of a legal firm in Edinburgh for a Legal Document Handler. It is a hybrid role, with salary DOE. 

They will manage the creation, editing, and formatting of documents in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Foxit, ensuring they align with company style and standards. This includes transcribing dictations, handling document-related communications, and assisting with ad-hoc tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit and format documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

  • Communicate with fee earners/Coordinators regarding document progress and special instructions.

  • Handle phone calls, emails, and Teams messages related to document requests.

  • Report issues like faulty documents or printer errors to IT support.

  • Assist with special projects and provide document support across the firm.

  • Update and maintain templates, precedents, and legal styles.

  • Work flexibly to accommodate urgent tasks and additional hours when necessary.

  • Contribute to training, software pilots, and process improvements.

Candidate Profile/Skills:

  • Essential: Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience in document production.

  • Desirable: Legal sector experience.

Teamwork & Firm Contribution:

  • Collaborates with the PA team and fee earners to meet deadlines.

  • Adheres to firm policies, regulatory requirements, and continuously improves processes.

  • Actively participates in team and firm development goals.
