USER RESEARCHER - OUTSIDE IR35 - 6 MONTH

One of Loriens leading Public Sector clients are looking for a highly experienced User Researcher to join their team on an initial 6 month contract with a high change of extension. Role Overview:The User Researcher will be responsible for understanding the needs and behaviours of users interacting with the government service's application processes. They will ensure that user insights drive the design and development of the new cloud-hosted system, enabling a seamless and efficient experience that aligns with the Digital Scotland Service Standard.Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and conduct user research to gather insights on user needs, behaviours, and pain points.
  • Use a variety of research methods, including interviews, usability testing, surveys, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with service designers and business analysts to translate user insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Advocate for users and ensure their needs are at the forefront of decision-making.
  • Work closely with the project team to ensure compliance with DSSS criteria and principles.
  • Document and share research findings to inform the development of user-centred solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of personas, user journeys, and scenarios.
  • Provide expertise in accessibility and inclusivity to ensure all users are considered.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Experience conducting user research in digital transformation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Familiarity with Digital Scotland Service Standard and its application in government projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.

Office location is Edinburgh, The expectation to come into the office for day 1 to obtain equipment and any induction requirements.1 day per week in the office, plus 2 extra office days per month. Other office days may be required.
