My client based in Edinburgh is looking for an Electronic Design Engineer
Key Responsibilities
Electronic circuit design is the primary job function of the Electronics Engineer, and is categorised in three distinct set of activities:
1. Architecture & Concepts
You will be required to work on Architecture and Concepts activities on your projects, including:
Understanding Requirements and turning into solutions
Researching and identifying best fit for the requirements
Sketching full system diagrams
Knowledge in compliance and risk management
Collaborating with other disciplines
2. PCBA Design
The core of your work will be to produce PCB assembly designs:
Schematics & BOM
Layout
Component library management
Tolerance analysis of parts / assemblies
PCB & Components physical interface (layout)
3. Prototype & Test
You will be required to work on prototyping and testing activities:
Procurement of Prototypes
Board Bring up
Writing test specs
Proof of concept & Test Rigs building
Testing & Troubleshooting
Fettling & Modifications
4. Design Documentation and Reporting
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date technical documentation
Ensuring adherence to QMS processes and identified compliance standards
Ensuring quality standard of any design outputs issued to clients or suppliers
Produce and present material to both internal and external audiences
5. Professionalism

Qualifications/Requirements
Essential Skills/Experience
Bachelor's honours degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 3 years industry experience
Capable in the design and delivery of functional prototypes and products that meet or exceed customer specifications
Proficient in using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers, and other test equipment to troubleshoot and validate electronic designs
Ability to identify technical risks in a project
Able to identify and clearly communicate technical issues, come up with solutions or seek help from senior members to minimise impact on project timelines.
Proficient in using design tools like Altium and Orcad
Advanced user of MS applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
