Lead Buyer – Construction
We’re looking for an experienced Lead Buyer to join a well-established construction business, taking ownership of the procurement process and ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of materials to support a range of building projects.
What you’ll do:
- Source and negotiate competitive prices for materials and services
- Place and manage purchase orders to meet project timelines
- Collaborate with site teams, Quantity Surveyors and suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues
- Review invoices and follow up on any discrepancies or credits
- Support tender processes by issuing enquiries and analysing quotes
- Manage procurement admin including PPE, mobile contracts and supplies
- Contribute to sustainability reporting and ensure environmental standards are met
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role within construction
- Strong negotiation, communication and organisational skills
- Commercially aware with good attention to detail
- Confident using Microsoft Office and procurement systems
- Self-motivated, proactive and professional
