Lead Buyer – Construction

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Buyer to join a well-established construction business, taking ownership of the procurement process and ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of materials to support a range of building projects.

What you’ll do:

  • Source and negotiate competitive prices for materials and services
  • Place and manage purchase orders to meet project timelines
  • Collaborate with site teams, Quantity Surveyors and suppliers
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues
  • Review invoices and follow up on any discrepancies or credits
  • Support tender processes by issuing enquiries and analysing quotes
  • Manage procurement admin including PPE, mobile contracts and supplies
  • Contribute to sustainability reporting and ensure environmental standards are met

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role within construction
  • Strong negotiation, communication and organisational skills
  • Commercially aware with good attention to detail
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and procurement systems
  • Self-motivated, proactive and professional
