About the Role:
We are looking for a dynamic Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead a commercial team of up to 4 direct reports. You will take ownership of the commercial function across significant projects, ensuring delivery is both commercially successful and fully aligned with our commitment to excellence. You'll split your time between our offices and project sites, giving you the perfect blend of leadership, hands-on involvement, and strategic oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the commercial management of projects valued up to 150 million.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors (around 4 direct reports).
  • Prepare accurate cost reports, valuations, forecasts, and financial reviews.
  • Negotiate contracts, manage subcontracts, and drive strong supplier relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Directors, construction teams, and key stakeholders to ensure commercial success.
  • Maintain full compliance with company policies, procedures, and commercial best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement across the commercial function.
  • Play a critical role in client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior QS or Managing QS within a Tier 1 or 2 contractor environment.
  • Strong track record managing high-value projects (ideally 50m+).
  • Experience leading and mentoring commercial teams.
  • Excellent contractual and commercial knowledge (JCT, NEC forms of contract experience highly desirable).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with teams, clients, and stakeholders.
